3D graphics for my thesis

The first two screenshots are real-time images. The third image is the screen title. More information can be found in the Virtools section under projects.

Animation of the Fraunhofer CeBit stand.

The model was sent to us as VRML without any material and texture. Additionally nearly all the geometry was broken. I repaired and reconstructed the geometries (as far as the schedule is on time) and assigned materials and textures. Additionally I setup the lighting and the camera-animation. No GI was used. This animation was shown on a big plasma display at the info desk of the Fraunhofer stand, as part of a rich media presentation, during the whole exposition.

Car Showroom

A VRML showroom I created for internal use at IT Service Omikron. The car is not from me.

WISTA area of Berlin Adlershof

This is a VRML project I lead at IT Service Omikron. We were two people creating over 80 buildings of that area. The modelling wasn't the time consuming part, but creating textures from the hundreds photos I shot. Taking out cars, lamps, trees etc. Then I exported the models each by each as VRML files, plus creating additional VRML files for organization purposes, like it was wished by the client.

MIC & STORZ

This is a VRML project I did with Kai Bergold, who led it, at IT Service Omikron. We recreated the operating room of the MIC Berlin virtually. It is used by STORZ, a company who delivers devices and operating rooms. They use it in X-Rooms installations for presentation purposes.

Once I was in the operating room at the MIC taking photos while an operation was ongoing .... very strange experience I can tell you! My boss didn't stay long!!! ;) But as I was busy taking photos, Kai got explained everything very detailed by the director ... I don't think that he wanted to know all THAT detailed !!! hehehehe ...

(not sure)

Alice D.

A project I did for a course at my university with three other students. We had a lot of fun doing it, but also not much sleep. It's a very strange short, but I'll now open what it's all about ... we didn't before. Although it has some kind of plot, it's not obvious.

It's about escaping from the daily stressed life into the peaceful fantasy world ... but instead of remaining in a peaceful scenario, due the curious nature of humankind, the trip continues through very different worlds ... from time to time the creators of the movie reappear and guide through the voyage to the final peaceful end.

Note the double sense of Alice D. So don't try to understand ;oP

Some screenshots from the scences I worked on:

The movie is over 50 MB, but Ithink I'm going to upload it next month.

First (alien) character

This was my very first attempt to create a human like head, which was for a course I was studying. I started with a geosphere - no meshtools at those times ;). I then added quickly a body to it, but as you can see I had difficulties with the shoulder area. I hope one day I've some time to dig that file out and rework it, as I somehow like the alien disco dancer design! :)

Brainstorming

This was for a little short I planed to do for a course at my university. A little funny story about light bulbs storming a brain ... It didn't know about Smoothing Groups at that time, so don't wonder. The images with the characters were rendered without Raytrace AA (I was in a hurry at that time ... or should I better say: as always?!).
